Winter without barriers: sports and adventure for all

Cortina d’Ampezzo is preparing for a special event: the opening of the 2025-26 ski season and the Winter Paralympics are just months away. This symbolic appointment reaffirms Cortina’s commitment to making the mountains accessible to everyone, without barriers. Here, anyone can experience the magic of snow thanks to a wide range of sports and activities designed for people with disabilities.

Downhill skiing even with mono-skiing: in Cortina, those with disabilities can learn or practice downhill skiing with the help of specialized instructors. The Cortina Ski School provides qualified instructors to offer support and personalized lessons (info at tel. 0436 2911). In addition, those who need it can request a free monoski (sit-ski) on loan by contacting 0436 881812 or by writing to segreteria@serviziampezzo.it.

Cross-country skiing: the Fiames Trail No. 2 (Valgranda-Ospitale-Cimabanche Road) is ideal for accessible cross-country skiing. The flat, well-maintained trail allows everyone to enjoy the beauty of the snowy landscapes. Those with mobility disabilities can request a free cross-country sled provided by ETS The Game Never Ends, and take lessons with licensed instructors by contacting www.morottorental.it

To identify them you will find the sticker with the universal accessibility symbol both at the facility and on the skimap. Facilities already involved include:

  • Refuges: Scoiattoli, Fedare, Pomedes, Duca d’Aosta, Faloria, Col Druscié, Bai de Dones
