Mobility – Archive
On the occasion of the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, for reasons of public order, the territory of Cortina d’Ampezzo has been affected by an extraordinary system of traffic regulation through the introduction of temporary Limited Traffic Zones: the Olympic and Paralympic Limited Traffic Zones.
The measures were not in effect continuously, but only on race days and during specific time slots, with the aim of ensuring the safety of the event and minimizing the impact on the daily lives of residents. During the activations, access to the municipal territory was allowed only to vehicles in possession of the Auto Territories Pass.
Between February 23 and March 2, 2026, the Auto Pass was not required for access to Cortina. From March 3 to March 15, the Pass became necessary again during the time slots when the ZTL was active.
Important: Extraordinary LTZs only regulated access, not exit. It was therefore always possible to exit freely.
Important update on Passes
As of February 1, 2026, only temporary Auto Passes have been available.
Auto Pass Platform
For information and management of the Car Pass, the official platform was active: https://passauto.milanocortina2026.org/it/
For problems on mobility and car pass, it was possible to write to: mobilita@fondazionecortina.com or pass.cortina@milanocortina2026.org
Withdrawal of Temporary Auto Passes
Collection of temporary Auto Passes took place at Pass Distribution Points (points outside Cortina) active during February 1-22, 2026 and March 3-15, 2026, with the following times:
- South: Old Customs House (07 a.m. to 10 p.m.)
- North: Toblach (07.00-22.00)
- West: Pocol (7 a.m.-5 p.m.)
- East: Three Crosses (7 a.m.-5 p.m.)
Without Pass
Vehicles without Auto Passes were only allowed to pass through the gates during the times when the Olympic and Paralympic ZTLs were not active. Exiting the ZTL was always possible even without a Pass.
Articulation of Restricted Traffic Zones (ZTL)
The area has been zoned with different levels of access, depending on proximity to venues and security needs:
Zone 0 – Security Perimeter
Corresponded to the competition venues (Olympic Ice Stadium, Sliding Centre and Tofane). Access was not allowed with standard passes: there was a dedicated procedure with specific authorizations.
Cortina Zone 1 (Purple)
Located near the venues. The purple pass allowed access to Zone 1 and also to Zone 2. The affected streets included, among others: Via dei Marangoi, Via del Castello, Sopiazes, Via Cà Zanna, Via Alberto Bonacossa, Via dello Stadio; and, for the Tofane area, Col, Colfiere, Crignes, Gilardon, Lacedel, Lungo Boite, Meleres, Mortisa, Pocol, Ronco, Val di Sopra, Val di Sotto.
Cortina Zone 2 (Yellow)
Coincided with the entire municipality (all streets not included in the previous zones). The yellow pass allowed access to Zone 2 only and not Zone 1.
Zone activation varied according to the competition schedule: on days with alpine skiing competitions at Tofane, more extensive activation of Zone 1 was planned; on other days, Zone 1 remained concentrated in areas near the venues.
